Some issues cannot be worked through in a group. A leader is stepping into a bigger role. Two people share leadership responsibility but lead in different ways. A team can no longer find its way forward without support.
In situations like these, coaching is the right format: a confidential space, an individual pace and a focus on what actually needs attention – rather than on a predefined programme.
Many of my coaching engagements begin after a training session. Someone recognises themselves in a particular topic and wants to explore it further without their colleagues being present. Coaching can, however, also begin independently of a training programme.
