Developing a Healthy Performance Culture

Culture is shaped by what is tolerated

No team decides to overwork itself. Overload develops gradually: the Sunday evening email is answered because, on one occasion, it was urgent. Anyone leaving early feels the need to explain themselves. Holidays are postponed because there is too much to do. Over time, this becomes a norm that no one consciously agreed to – yet everyone continues to uphold.

The essentials of this workshop

When this topic becomes relevant:

People regularly work late without anyone explicitly asking them to. Being available at weekends is tacitly expected. Those who set boundaries appear less committed than their colleagues. Or a leader realises that their own behaviour is establishing standards they never intended to create.

What we work on:

Making visible the unwritten rules that actually shape the team’s work. Clarifying what performance means within the team – and how it is assessed when it is not measured by presence or constant availability. Establishing clear agreements on availability, breaks and how to handle periods of peak demand. And exploring together the benefits and potential tensions associated with these agreements.

How it works:

As a one- or two-day workshop with the entire team. The leader participates as a member of the team. We work with the realities of day-to-day work rather than idealised expectations. The workshop results in concrete agreements whose implementation can be reviewed in everyday practice. If desired, a follow-up session can take place after several weeks to revisit and adjust them together.

What changes:

Teams that have examined their performance culture work more consciously instead of simply doing more and more. For the company, this means a performance culture that can be shaped more reliably and sustainably, less dependence on individuals who continually push beyond their limits and a team that addresses pressure before it escalates.

Does this fit your situation?

Let’s talk. In a no-obligation initial conversation, we will clarify what your situation is really about – and whether a workshop is the right format.
